ROSPA Gold Medal Award 2010

Bancroft are celebrating being awarded the Gold Medal Award this year, one of the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2010.

The Gold Medal Award (5 consecutive Gold Awards) will be presented to the Health and Safety Department at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on Wednesday May 12th.

The RoSPA Awards scheme is not only about reducing the number of accidents and cases of illhealth at work; it also encourages organisations to develop robust health and safety management systems.

David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said ‘Bancroft has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of its employees and others. Organisations which do this deserve to have such dedication recognised and that’s where the RoSPA Awards come in.’ As well as there being clear ethical reasons and legal requirements for good health and safety management, there is also a strong business case. RoSPA is delighted to publicly honour organisations which have demonstrated their work to improve performance in this sphere.’

Jason Dodd, SHEQ Director, said ‘Winning five consecutive Gold Awards is a fantastic achievement for the whole business and not only the tireless work of the Health and Safety Department. Working within what can be an ever changing workplace on our projects, the leadership from the top level of management and the filtering down through to our operatives on site, ensures that Health and Safety
becomes self monitoring and not just when the Health and Safety Team are on site. We are very proud and honoured to receive the Gold Medal Award this year and will be working hard to continue our level of commitment for the coming year.’
